The Custom Myth:-

Many so called "custom" cabinets are built using the same jigs the father used in the 70's and the same finish techniques involving either a painter finishing the cabinets in the house (sheetrock dust) or in the back of the shop (every other type of dust) and charging a "custom" price.  Wellborn also builds their cabinets in a shop (just over 2 million ft.) and apply a scientifically formulated finish in a multi-million dollar finishing department with results so consistent, you can replace a damaged door years from now and it will match.
