Take the Cake, based in Montclair, New Jersey features handmade, personalized cakes for any occasion. You tell us about the recipient and we’ll create cake decorations that are unique to them, fully edible and like nothing you’ll find anywhere else.  We like to think of it as “edible art.”  Whether for a kid’s bowling party or an adult’s 70th birthday, a Christening or Bar/Bat Mitzvah, we’ll make the cake something extra special that everyone will remember.  And we do wedding cakes too—all made to order, any flavor and design you choose.

Take a look through our gallery of special occasion cakes and you’ll see handmade pets, roller skates, hiking boots, favorite paintings and even the state of Florida! Decorations are made of fondant and covered in marzipan, or sculpted out of chocolate so they taste as good as they look!

And then there’s flowers….we can make your daughter a cake covered with roses so everyone at the party gets one on their piece, a garden of blooms in marzipan, or free-standing gumpaste blooms that look like they were just picked from the field.

If you’re having a dinner party, we can provide the perfect ending to the perfect meal. From cheesecake to pie to decadent lemon curd tart or flourless chocolate cake, you and your guests will love it!

And if you don’t have time to make cupcakes for your child’s birthday or something for the bake sale, never fear!  We’ve got you covered there too with special birthday people or flower-topped cupcakes and cookies, brownies and bars to delight the PTA!
