PRO'Active is an established Pilates Studio in the Westlake Village / Thousand Oaks community and is located on the lower level of the WaterCourt, a unique professional center in the heart of Westlake Village.
Laurie Walker was one of the first instructors when PRO'Active opened it's doors in 1998 - anyone who knew Laurie at that time saw she wholeheartedly devoted herself to the technique, her clients and the needs of the studio. As Program Director for the studio, she was instrumental in developing highly effective continuing education programs for the instructors, as well as keeping abreast of the continuing changes in the Pilates community. In 2003, she and her husband John purchased PRO'Active becoming full owners. Laurie is a "hands on" owner and you'll see her energy and warmth at work in the studio on a day-to-day basis.
A long established fitness professional, Laurie is recognized in Southern California as a Master Pilates Instructor. She is certified at the Advanced Level with Physical Mind Institute and recognized by the Institute to qualify as a certifying teacher. Laurie is also certified by ACE (American Council on Exercise) and AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Organization of America). She has over 15 years of instructor experience in aerobics, weight training, strength training and Pilates.
She and John are long-time Conejo Valley residents; She has a dance background…but the current "loves" of her life (after John, and the studio, of course)…her horses! She is a passionate, active and accomplished equestrian.
